The French Competition Authority has decided after a year-long public consultation process to issue a notice on the regular interregional bus market. In this notice the independent administrative authority makes a number of recommendations, which should encourage a form of mobility that appears to be still little developed in France.
The Competition Authority, on 26 February 2013, decided to take judicial notice of the issue of the competitive functioning of the regular interregional bus market. To issue the notice that is the subject of this commentary, it first held a public consultation, which allowed different authorities and stakeholders to voice their own opinions on the subject. Once all the views were heard, they were able to offer, beyond the inventory of the market for bus transport, a number of recommendations that should certainly move the market at issue but also the offerings in mobility.
